My YouTube Partnership and Adsense Were Suspended, But I'm Glad It Happened

About a year ago my newly opened Adsense account was suddenly suspended after only a brief one month's operation. It wasn't very much of a surprise because I was damn clear about what I did. Now I'll tell you my story and hope you can learn something from my fall. Yes, it's not much of an honorable thing, it's definitely leaving a stain on my reputation that I usually wouldn't want people to know about, but now it's been over a year and I'm actually feeling grateful it happened. So, here's the story.

Over a year ago I got really into the whole YouTube thing, watching YouTube shows become my daily necessity ever since, and the idea of making money off YouTube videos for the first time came across my mind, I decided to give it a try.

After watched a whole bunch of videos about how to establish partnership with YouTube I discovered it wasn't as hard as I thought. At that time, early 2015, it was already fairly easy to apply for partnership, by then I had made quite a few videos and categorized them nicely on my channel so it was just barely presentable, and Google accepted it.

At first I was sticking to the rules but soon I gave up to the temptation, at first I asked my friends to click on my ads, then I tried to click on my own videos on different devices, even went to university's library and use public computer to view my video. Do NOT do these things! If you are serious about a YouTube career, please don't ruin it like this. Some other things you may want to avoid is, to artificially inflate your view counts, such as put one video on loop and play it a hundred times. It DOESN'T help building your brand, really!

I joined a whole lot of facebook YouTube groups, everyday I spam links all across the groups along with thousands of other view-hunger starters. It wasn't much effective, nobody really care about the content, it was just meaningless view for view or sub for sub. Looking back in those days, it was a dark time.

I kinda had anticipated the termination of my partnership's coming, when it ended, I also ended my YouTube career, I felt extremely frustrated, and regret, but well, you have only one chance, there's no way back, really no.

So after a year, I'm still watching YouTube, not less but even more, and I'm discovering new YouTubers to get obsessed with, this month I found Casey Neistat. I am immediately drawn to his style of vlog, the flow and rythme of his editing and shooting, the use of drone, time lapse, the view of New York City... Why can't I make videos like that? The videos I made were pure garbage, I made half of them private, leaving some that I think still worth existing in Google's database.

Now I'm back to vlogging and all kinds of video making, and I'm looking up to Casey Neistat's standard(I'm imitating a lot! As first step) and try to apply it on my videos, put a lot of thoughts on editing, scene designing, shooting, music and titles. My father's a professional film maker for weddings, he's been trying to teach me stuff as long as he was in the business, but during one month's binge watching Casey's Vlog, I learned SO MUCH MORE than all the lectures my father gave me. Inspiration is the best teacher I'd say. I feel good about it, I'm on the right track, this I'm very sure of. What surprises me is, the used-to-be money hunger me turned into a genuine film maker that just wants to make great videos, great content, it DOESN'T matter if I make a few pennies off the YouTube ads. So, as I said in the title, I'm glad that my partnership is suspended, so that now I'm focused on the right thing, and it is a huge relief. Now I'm keeping myself busy with making videos(Vlogs in Venice, newly some gaming contents, and just random stuff), building my own creative brand "Fudoobeer" including this blog, promoting solar energy across many social media platforms... I'm trying to live my life to the fullest.

If you are reading this, as a beginning YouTuber, I know you might have heard of these words over and over, and I also know that I've grown tired of these words of warning back in the days myself, but seriously, if you want to make money, go get a job, YouTube is not a place to make money, it's a place to share GREAT videos. Period.
